My experience with AliExpress has been an odd one. They constantly bombard you with notifications for promotions. It also allows you to filter if the seller delivers to your country, but then quite often you get to the checkout and it tells you it’s not available for your country, which is frustrating. They also seem to constantly have coupons you can use on your purchase, but they very rarely work at the checkout.

I would compare it to be very similar to the app Wish. Where they’ve packed the site with so many products and so many useful features that I found it difficult to shop and all a bit too distracting.

What’s Good About AliExpress

What I would say they have going for them is that they sell absolutely everything. Often around 5 times cheaper than if you bought it in a shop, and the sellers are quick to make new products depending on what’s trending, offering bulk discounts.

What’s Better?

I would personally recommend just buying off eBay and filtering to items that are being dispatched from the country you’re in instead. Often when you consider the shipping costs and the time it takes to get to you (more often than not from China), it works out just a cheap to get it off eBay or Amazon. Though with the AliExpress referral code there are some bargains to be had so I would check it out before dismissing it like I had initially.

I would also recommend checking out IWOOT, as they have a good range of homeware and gadgets, but can deliver the next day. In my opinion, I Wat One Of Those are better as they have more stringent checks on if the products are safe and tested.
